This is a unique and very rare bass from Andy’s personal collection. It is an early 1980’s Steinberger L-2 bass, made on 12th April 1982, one of the first batch made in the original workshop in Sullivan Street. These very rarely come up for sale. A couple of things of particular interest about this bass, is that it has the original plug in leg rest, these are usually missing and impossible to replace. This is the thin spindle (first type) leg rest, they were quickly changed to a fatter spindle and then eventually to the flip out type. It also has the Steinberger name still visible apart from the last letter R which has worn off. The Silk Screen Logo has usually completely worn off these early L-2’s, very unusual to find one intact. The bass plays beautifully and has the best action I have ever played on any bass that I have owned. Sound is pure EMG Steinberger, Classic, pure and true. Look around and try to find another of these for sale anywhere and if you do they are likely to be priced around £10,000 plus. Our price is very competitive. Supplied with original Steinberger gig bag.
